After caries removal from the affected tooth the dentist takes a digital dental impression which is sent to our associated dental laboratory. In the laboratory a perfect fitting inlay made of ceramics or gold is fabricated based on the model of your teeth. As soon as the inlay is ready, it is sent from the laboratory to the praxis and cemented by your dentist into the tooth. An inlay is characterized by a very high resistance against the immense masticatory forces in the mouth and is sometimes longer lasting than normal fillings.

What are the costs of inlays?

Due to the legal regulations in Austria we are not allowed to write prices online. We are happy to advise you in detail during a meeting in our office.

What is the duration of the inlay treatment?

The treatment is split into two sessions. The first session includes the preparation of the tooth and the making of the impression, which is subsequently used by the dental technician for the fabrication of the inlay for the patient. In the second session the inlay is placed into the tooth. Usually the treatment is completed within one week.

What is the durability of inlays?

Compared with any other tooth-preserving methods (fillings of amalgam or composite) the inlay provides the highest durability and is The best-practice solution in the tooth-preserving therapy.

What is better, an inlay of gold or of ceramics?

In the past many physicians believed, that an inlay of gold might be better than a ceramic inlay. 15 years ago, this opinion was quite reasonable, however, based on the materials, which are available in the field of ceramics processing today, this is no longer applicable. Today both variants are considered to be of equal value.
